Do you ever find it difficult to make a choice because by saying ‘yes’ to one thing, it means saying ‘no’ to another?
When Jesus calls the world to “repent and believe”, he is commanding us to make a choice: allegiance to Jesus, or allegiance to another. This concept of allegiance is found in the word “partnership” in the book of Philippians. This letter written by Paul, is a letter of joy because of the way in which the church and Paul’s mission work together.
The letter reveals a wonderful picture of a healthy and joyful church which shares in the joys and hardships of following Jesus. So as we come out of lockdown, my prayer is that through the preaching and teaching of this letter from God, we as the church in Rhodes will be renewed in our allegiance to one another and to the God of mission.
