Ride for Refugees 2019
This year on August 24, Cornerstone Cruisers will once again participate in Ride for Refugees, a cycling event aimed to help people and churches engage with and raise funds for refugees locally and overseas. Last year, we managed to be the top team, raising $9547 for organisations such as The Oasis in Austria, The Intertreff in Austria, The Sydney Refugee Team, House of Hope, Linz and Humeridge Refugee ministries in Toowoomba.
This year, the Sydney event is held on August 24 (Saturday) at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith and there are the options to cycle 25km, 50km, 75km and 100km (as well as a kids' track), and we hope to go again together as a big church family in support of our brothers and sisters here and overseas. If you are interested or want to get involved, either by participating on the day, donating, joining in on the practice rides, or lending your bikes or helmets, please visit the R4R website or the link below, or get in touch with the following representatives at each congregation:
- Concord: Vincent
- Eastwood: Cynthia and Libbi
- Homebush Bay: Ray
- Rhodes: Bek
- Strathfield: Mitch and Bianca
