God says that our human nature is enslaved to sin - that is not trusting God and his way and making it up as we go. As a result, the world in which we live is perverse and unhappy. What is worse, God says a day of his justice is coming. This is only one solution to our unhappiness, our perversion and our guilt before God. The only answer is the gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ.
